The operations division is commanded by Captain Kenneth Weyker
Captain Weyker joined the Kenosha Sheriff’s Dept. in 1989. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Sociology. He began his career in Law Enforcement in 1987 with the Wisconsin State Patrol before joining the Sheriff’s Department in 1989.
In 1994 he was promoted to Detective and assigned to the metro Narcotics Unit. During this time Captain Weyker spent 2 years assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration in Milwaukee, WI as a Federal Task Force Officer before returning to the General Assignment Division.
Captain Weyker was promoted to Sergeant and later to Lieutenant rising through the ranks in the Patrol and Administrative Divisions until 2008 when he began heading up the Detective Division. He has been a 20 year member of the Tactical Response Team advancing to the rank of Commander from 2005-2012.Capt. Weyker is an instrumental part of training within the Sheriff’s Dept. and is on staff at Gateway Technical College as a Firearms and Tactical Instructor. He also is a former President and Executive Board Member of the Midwest Tactical Officers Association whichprovides various SWAT training to officers within a 5 state region.
