The Impact of the Opioid Epidemic
Join us as we look at some of the factors that have fueled this epidemic of addiction, and discuss what employers, employees and their family members need to know to be healthy and safe. Specifically, we will:
• Discuss opioid addiction, signs of abuse and its impact on employers.
• Share best practices employers can utilize when partnering with their workers’ compensation carriers and Health Insurance EAP providers.
• Review some of the federal labor and employment laws implicated by the opioid epidemic.
• Receive resources in Kenosha County and Employee Handbook Language
From drug testing, to reasonable accommodations, to mandatory EAP referrals and last chance agreements, we will review common strategies for addressing drugs (and alcohol) in the workplace.
