Business Services - Employee Assessment
Success in business depends on the quality of the workforce. Objective assessment is the key to effective employee selection, improved job retention and reduced recruiting and hiring costs. Pre-employment screening of job applicants helps to identify qualified candidates who have the characteristics and job potential that best match the position requirements. For incumbent workers, assessment helps to establish benchmarks for the workforce, identify candidates for promotion and advancement, and aid in the determination of training needs.
Assessment staff at the Kenosha County Job Center are trained and experienced in the provision of pre-employment testing and assessment of incumbent workers.
A variety of assessment tools is used to identify and measure areas of competency and personal characteristics relevant to the needs of positions being filled. These areas include the following:
- Reading and math skill levels
- Problem solving ability / aptitude
- Personality characteristics
- Managerial potential
- Sales potential
- Computer skills
Depending on employer need, results relayed to the employer can be simply the achieved scores or an in-depth individual report that presents information regarding the strengths and concerns of a candidate.
Assessment staff are also qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, a survey of personality preferences that is widely used in organizations to facilitate teamwork and improve communication skills.
Whatever the assessment need, services are tailored to meet the requirements of each employer. A nominal fee is charged for these services. Test administration is available either at the Kenosha County Job Center offices or on-site at the business location.
