Program Services - Medicaid Transportation
Medicaid Transportation, funded by Federal and State tax dollars, is a component of the Title 19 Medicaid Assistance Program. Federal regulations require that State Medicaid programs assure that Medicaid recipients have transportation to obtain Medicaid covered services. Medicaid Transportation is therefore an available resource to any Medicaid recipient in need of this service. This includes individuals receiving regular Medicaid Assistance, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Healthy Start, BadgerCare, Katie Beckett, Medical Assistance Purchase Plan (MAPP), and COP Waiver.
The Kenosha County Division of Workforce Development contracts with local transport vendors to provide Common Carrier transportation services. Common Carrier is intended for ambulatory individuals with current Title 19 coverage who can be transported to their Medicaid appointments in sedan vehicles, taxicabs, etc.
