Child Passenger Safety Program

Requirements
· An appointment is needed - call 605-6700 to schedule.
· You must be a resident of Kenosha County.
· There is no cost to have your car seat checked. You may get your car seat
checked as many times as you’d like.
· Please call if you can’t make your appointment. If you show up 15
minutes past your scheduled appointment you may be asked to
reschedule.
· Car and child must be present at time of the car seat check.
*Exception: Expectant parents are welcome and encouraged to come
have their car seat inspected. Suggested time frame is
1 month-2 weeks prior to baby being born. However, return visit after
baby is born is mandatory.
· You will be asked to duplicate correct installation of the car seat at the
time of the check.
· You may be asked to fill out a survey 3-6 months after original car seat
check.
· Please bring your medical assistance card and one other form of
identification if you are requesting assistance with obtaining a car seat. A
fee of $30 is requested for car seats and high back boosters. A fee of $10
is requested for no-back boosters.
· We do not accept returns or offer refunds on car seats. Once you leave
with the seat - it is yours.
· You may only receive financial assistance with obtaining a car seat
from our agency once. You must purchase any future car seats on
your own.
This program is a service of the Kenosha County Division
of Health. It is provided to educate parents, caregivers, and
grandparents on how to install a child’s car seat properly to reduce
the chance of serious injury or death if involved in a
motor vehicle crash.
