Kenosha County provides over 1500 acres of managed recreational land at seven parks conveniently located throughout the County. The Park Division also maintains 14 miles of cycling trails. Special arrangements with the Kenosha Historical Society and the Kemper Center expand the scope of recreational opportunities available to you in Southeastern Wisconsin.

ICE FISHING DERBY CANCELED
Due to the unusually temperate weather and subsequent safety concerns, the Kenosha County Youth Ice Fishing Derby and all weekend activities at the KD Park have been canceled. The KD Park will remained closed until further notice.

Kenosha County Parks will not be accepting pavilion reservations for Petrifying Springs Park for the 2012 season
Due to renovation and restoration projects at Petrifying Springs Park, the park pavilions will not be rented out during the 2012 season, as the Parks Division has no way to guarantee that there will be access to a pavilion weekdays or on weekends. Petrifying Springs Park Cross-Country Ski Loop Lit for Nightime Skiing
The cross-country ski loop at Petrifying Springs Park will be lit for skiing every night from dusk until 10 pm when there is sufficient snow for skiing.
Our thanks to the UW-P Community X-C Ski Club for partnering with Parks to re-open the lighted trail and keep it well-groomed throughout the skiing season!

Petrifying Springs Park Renovation: A Plan for Rebuilding the Park's Infrastructure
In 2008, Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser initiated an aggressive plan to restore Petrifying Springs to the flagship of the county's parks system. This plan adds bike paths, replaces playground equipment, removes an abandoned dam, stabilizes the banks of the Pike River, and reconstructs roadways and parking lots to address stormwater runoff issues with an environmentally sound practice of infiltration ditches, bioswales, and permeable pavers.

Petrifying Springs Park Pike River Fish Passage Dam Removal Design & Engineering Project
Thanks to the Greater Milwaukee Fund for Lake Michigan, Kenosha County Parks is moving forward with the design and engineering phase of the removal of a non-functional dam in
Petrifying Springs Park and the stabilization of the stream bank
following the removal of the dam. The dam is the only remaining physical
barrier to fish passage on the Pike River, and the implementation of
this planning work will improve habitat and water quality in the
watershed.
